BBL

BBL delivers light energy with precision to treat age and sun spots, freckles, small facial veins, and other types of skin discoloration. BBL is specifically cleared by the FDA for treating pigmented lesions, vascular lesions, and acne and for hair reduction. It gently heats the deeper layers of skin, triggering damaged cells to generate new collagen — which helps give skin its healthy, youthful-looking appearance.

The innovative and versatile dual-lamp technology uses a wide spectrum of wavelengths so that we can treat a variety of skin conditions without needing specialized handpieces. Our licensed aestheticians simply adjust the wavelength settings to target your precise concern.

“…I also have greatly enjoyed working with Drs. Brent and Cody Koch and staff members. All are very professional, kind and obviously skilled. Aesthetician Ellen Weber has been wonderful during my Skin Tyte and BBL treatments. She not only is highly trained, but also very patient and creative in helping me maximize my results…”

— Carla H.

BBL® HERO™ is now available! This advancement opens the door to treating any other area of the body, including arms, legs, abdomen, and back. Ask your aesthetician for more information.

Forever Young BBL

Forever Young BBL photo rejuvenation treatments can turn back the clock on signs of aging with no downtime and little to no discomfort. The procedure is an alternative to intense pulsed light and is recommended for patients with sun damage on the face or body such as freckles and discoloration, as well as rosacea and overall redness.

Both Forever Young and traditional BBL treatments work to make skin look younger and clearer, and our licensed aestheticians are happy to assess your skin and determine whether either would suit your goals. We can also recommend other skin care services such as MOXI® and Halo® laser treatments.

How Much Do BBL Laser Treatments Cost in Des Moines?

At our Des Moines practice, the price of BBL laser treatments starts at $295. We will provide you with a personalized estimate at the time of your consultation.

Which Is Better, BBL or Halo?

The best choice for you depends on your needs, cosmetic goals, and available downtime. Here is a comparison:

  • Halo is a hybrid fractional laser that has both ablative (impacts the skin) and nonablative (leaves the skin intact) options. It helps make the skin firmer and smoother by stimulating collagen production.
  • BBL is best for addressing redness and excess brown pigment in the upper layer of the skin. It is nonablative, so downtime is minimal, but patients typically need a series of treatments.

Many patients benefit from a combination of these treatments.

Recovery

BBL and Forever Young BBL treatments don’t require downtime, and most patients experience minimal or no discomfort during and after the procedures. You can return to work immediately. Some redness, swelling, and occasionally the sensation of having a sunburn are common side effects, but they typically resolve within a few hours. Age spots or other hyperpigmentation targeted by the procedure initially darken before fading and flaking off in the first few days after the procedure.

The number of procedures needed depends on the type and extent of the conditions you want to treat and your cosmetic goals, but in general, most patients see better results after at least 2 treatments.
