A woman receives injectables.

We offer plenty of nonsurgical alternatives to facelift surgery at our Des Moines practice for patients who aren’t ready for a facelift or who want to avoid more invasive procedures. These skin tightening treatments are excellent solutions for women and men whose skin retains much of its elasticity but is beginning to sag.

Our team includes a pair of board-certified facial plastic surgeons, a certified physician assistant with extensive facial aesthetic experience, and clinical aestheticians. Each team member uses their expertise to identify the treatment or treatments that will ideally address your specific concerns.

Nonsurgical Skin Tightening Treatments

One of the exciting things about the aesthetic field right now is the evolution of effective minimally invasive or non-invasive facial rejuvenation treatments. These procedures produce great results without incisions or downtime. The key is choosing providers who identify the specific procedure that will help you.

The technologies available range from infrared light used in SkinTyte™ to the Halo’s® hybrid laser platform. Here’s a closer look at some of the non-surgical facial rejuvenation procedures we offer:

SkinPen™ Microneedling

Microneedling has become the go-to skincare treatment for celebrities who want to refresh their appearance and minimize lines and wrinkles without the downtime of surgery. The SkinPen device is—as its name implies—a device about the size of a pen with sterile, disposable tips containing an array of 11 steel micro-needles. The needles create micro-injuries that stimulate the skin’s natural healing response. Applying serums or platelet-rich plasma after the procedure enhances the results. We may also recommend the INTRAcel device, which combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy to produce more dramatic results.

MicroLaserPeel®

We can precisely customize the depth that MicroLaserPeel treatments penetrate, depending on the needs of the patient. Patients who want to improve the tone and texture of their skin are good candidates for MicroLaserPeel. The treatment removes the skin’s top layer to eliminate the damaged cells that give the complexion an aged look. Fresh cells replace the damaged skin as it heals, producing a more youthful appearance.

Halo®

As a hybrid fractional laser that offers ablative and non-ablative wavelengths, Halo treatments can be as aggressive or gentle as needed for a patient’s concerns. Patients can choose to get several treatment sessions spread out over several weeks or increase the treatment intensity to produce more dramatic results in a shorter time frame. Like other laser skin tightening treatments, the heat delivered to the skin triggers the healing process, resulting in new collagen and elastin.

Chemical peels

Even though some people may think of chemical peels as low-tech compared to laser skin treatments, they remain an effective option for patients who want the flexibility offered by light, medium, or deep peels. The choice depends on the degree of correction that is needed and the improvement desired. We may combine a chemical peel with a HydraFacial® to reverse sun damage and improve the skin’s tone and texture.

Liquid facelift

Injectables offer another treatment path for patients whose primary concerns are the early signs of aging, such as wrinkles, crow’s feet, and worry lines. By combining injections of BOTOX® Cosmetic and dermal fillers, our providers can produce comprehensive results that look natural. These results won’t be as dramatic or last as long as a surgical facelift, of course, but this approach is very popular with patients in their 40s and early 50s.
